Bamboo Screen Fencing installation

How to Install Bamboo Fence Screening: A Friendly Guide

 Tools and Materials You'll Need:
- Bamboo fence panels
- Measuring tape
- Pencil or marker
- Saw (a finer tooth saw is better)
- Screwdriver or drill (if attaching to wood)
- Screws (I use a variety from 25mm to 65mm)

 Step-by-Step Guide:

 1. **Measure Your Fence Area**
- Use a measuring tape to measure the height and length of the area where you want to install the bamboo screening. This will help you determine how much bamboo screening you need to purchase.
- Common sizes are:
- 1800mm height x 900mm width
- 2000mm height x 1000mm width
- 2400mm height x 1000mm width

2. **Purchase Your Bamboo Screening**
- Based on your measurements, buy the right amount of bamboo screening. It's always a good idea to get a little extra, just in case!
- I can bring the bamboo screening to you if needed.

 3. **Prepare Your Tools and Materials**
- Gather all your tools and materials. Make sure you have everything you need before starting. This includes your bamboo panels, screws, and a drill for securing the screening. You will also want to pre-drill wherever you're putting screws.

4. **Attach the Bamboo Screening to Your Fence**
- Lay out your bamboo screening against the fence.
- Using your measurements, mark where you need to cut the screening with a pencil or marker.
- Carefully cut the bamboo screening to size. A top tip here is to unwind the decorative string first and save as much as possible to use it to re-tie after cutting.

5. **Cut the Bamboo Screening to Size**

- **For Wooden Fences with Paling Side:**
- If you have the paling side, it is an easy job to simply screw your bamboo panels onto the fence. I usually use 65mm screws.

- **For Wooden Fences with Posts on Your Side:**
- If you find yourself with the posts on your side, you'll need to put up rails at the same height as the rails on the panels. This will make it easy for you to screw through the rails on the panels. For this, you will need shorter screws, maybe 35mm.

- **For Chain-Link Fences:**
- If you're attaching to a chain-link fence, you'll be able to just use zip ties. Make sure your posts are strong, as the wind can catch these panels and put stress on the fence.

- Continue attaching the bamboo screening at regular intervals to ensure it stays in place.
- Make sure the screening is level as you go.

 6. **Secure the Ends**
- Once you've attached the bamboo screening along the entire length of your fence, go back and make sure every panel is securely fastened. Add extra cable ties or screws if needed.

 7. **Trim Any Excess**
- Trim any excess bamboo screening or cable ties to give your fence a neat and tidy appearance.

8. **Enjoy Your New Bamboo Fence!**
- Step back and admire your work! Your bamboo fence screening should now be securely in place, adding a natural and attractive look to your outdoor space. Put in some big plants for added pizzazz and grab a beer!

Tips for Success:

- **Work with a Friend:** Installing bamboo screening can be much easier and more fun with an extra pair of hands. And if they're over 18, they can go to the Bottlo and get ready for finish time!

- **Safety First:** Wear gloves to protect your hands from sharp edges and tools.

And there you have it! A simple and happy guide to installing bamboo fence screening. Enjoy your newly enhanced outdoor space, but try to wait until you've finished before you crack a cold one. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
